DLD College London delighted with improved results

Students at DLD College London have achieved an incredible set of results in what is most definitely one of the most challenging circumstances ever experienced in education. From a school that is non-selective, a huge 34% of all A Level results are at A*-A grade, representing an 8% increase on the previous year, 62% of results are at A*-B grade, 85% at A*-C and the overall pass rate was a very respectable 99%. These results are even more impressive when compared with the national averages of 27% A*-A and 78% A*-C.

Of those students who took three or more A Levels, almost a fifth of them (18%) achieved at least three A*-A grades and just under half (42%) of the students achieved three or more A*-B grades. These brilliant results enable them to progress to top universities in the UK and overseas and to study the courses of their choice.

One of our domestic students, Sid Wilson, will take up his place at Oxford University to read History and another, Ruben Ticehurst-James has received a President’s Scholarship to study Maths at the University of Waterloo in Canada. International students Diogo Lami Roque Mana Fortunato from Portugal who achieved 3A*/A and Nazanin Faghihi from Iran who achieved 3A*, will go on to read English Literature at Durham and Mathematics at Imperial College London respectively.

In addition to these superb A Level results, the BTEC and IFP students are also celebrating. Almost a third (29%) of the BTEC Extended Diploma students achieved the equivalent to three A*-A grades at A Level and 90% achieved the equivalent of three A*-C grades, while the International Foundation Programme students achieved a 98% pass rate with almost half of them achieving a ‘Distinction’ with 75% or more overall.

Another of our domestic students, Daniel Khan, who studied Business BTEC, will take up his place at the University of Leeds to read Business Management and international student Elli Mohajeri Moghaddam, who studied Creative Digital Media Production BTEC and achieved the equivalent of 2A*/A is joining City, University of London to study Media, Communication and Sociology. From our Business and Economics International Foundation Programme, Polina Korola will now study Banking and International Finance at City, University of London and Sai Gondesi is going on to read Political Economy at King’s College London.

Many subjects at the school also achieved 100% A*-C grades including English, History, Geography, Sociology, History of Art, Film Studies, Music, and the languages, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Russian.
