Our featured Art of the Month is a self portrait painted by Year 12 A-level Art and Design student Jessica. This artwork is a result of her investigation of painting with rough brushstrokes.
Congratulations to Y11 GCSE Art & Design student Hrista, who has won the Upper school Art Competition for the 2nd half of the autumn term, with her etching of a collection of handbags while working on a Component 1 project and her self-selected theme ‘Identity’.
The 2nd place in the competition is shared between Y11 GCSE Art & Design students Enqi (Elaine) and Diyora. Enqi has produced a Dry Point needle print exploring how a mouth can convey different emotions, while Diyora investigated her culture by portraying the Monument of Independence of New Uzbekistan.
Another Y11 GCSE student Nakisha was awarded a Special Commendation for her atmospheric portrayal of the seaside scene.
We congratulate them all for their excellent achievements!
