Chemistry Students Excel in Prestigious Chemistry Olympiad

7th April 25

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding success of four of our Chemistry students who achieved national recognition in the 57th Annual Chemistry Olympiad, organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).

This prestigious competition challenges Key Stage 5 students to push beyond the A Level syllabus through a demanding two-hour examination covering physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. Designed to test problem-solving and critical thinking at an advanced level, the Olympiad is one of the most respected science competitions for sixth form students in the UK.

This year, DLD students rose to the challenge with three earning Silver Awards and one achieving a Bronze Award, placing them amongst the top performers nationally. Their results reflect not only strong subject knowledge but also a deep understanding of complex chemical concepts and processes.

The Chemistry Department at DLD praised the students’ commitment and academic excellence, stating:

“We are truly proud of this outstanding achievement. Participating in the Olympiad is a significant accomplishment in itself, and to be recognised at this level is a testament to the students’ hard work, resilience, and passion for the subject.”

Congratulations to all involved on this exceptional academic milestone!
