Christmas at DLD

13th December 24

We have been embracing the Christmas spirit over the past couple of weeks with trips to the London Palladium for a festive tradition of a pantomime, the annual Winter Party and Winter Awards Ceremony.

The Winter Party saw the atrium filled with holiday cheer and celebration with winter snacks, a festive photo booth, a charity present raffle, a bucking reindeer ride, and classic Christmas tunes. You can watch a teaser of the evening’s entertainment on our socials!

Today, students and staff alike embraced the spirit of the season by donning their Christmas jumpers for National Christmas Jumper Day, enjoyed a Christmas Dinner in the Global Kitchen before attending the Winter Awards Ceremony, where students’ hard work and accomplishments were recognized. The ceremony began with a beautiful piano solo performance of “Soltane Ghalbha” by Robita M, composed by Fariborz Lachini, followed by a welcoming speech from Principal James Kidd.

Music filled the air with a soulful rendition of “I Who Have Nothing” by Setayesh H, accompanied by piano. The event saw the presentation of CCA Academic Awards, celebrating the achievements of our students.

The festivities continued with a band performance of “Love Song” by The Cure, featuring students Andrew M, Ammar D, Ilia N, Jaivir M, and Setayesh H. Awards for Creative Arts and Sports were also presented, recognizing outstanding talent in both fields.

The evening wrapped up with the moving “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, performed by the band, as staff and students reflected on another memorable year at DLD.
