Netball Result: DLD Vs UCS

15th November 24

On Wednesday DLD competed in a high stakes netball match against UCS as part of the Sisters in Sport U19 Schools Cup. The DLD girls showcased their skill, teamwork and effort. We kept our defence high in the first quarter in hopes to ultimately find opportunities where we could increase our attacking positions. Our goal defence, Yekta and goal keeper, Ornela were converting every opportunity to intercept the opposing team through amazing determination and were successful in many cases.

As the match continued we saw some brilliant netball skills from our new players such as Annya who adapted well to the team through her individual skills such as coordination, great passes and determination. Despite UCS winning (15-8), we showed good resilience and stamina in defending our opponents and being creative in our passes.

Our attacking team showed good determination and skills by creating space and working hard to keep the ball within our attacking third. Our shooters, Lux, Annya and Hana, showcased strong skills, scoring very valuable goals, despite the pressure.

We are grateful for the people from DLD who came to support our match, and giving us added confidence in representing our school. Ultimately, there was great talent presented in both teams and the DLD girls took away valuable lessons from this match and hope to improve and adapt to challenges that come our way.
