Dear Parents & Guardians,

As we come to the end of a busy exam season and prepare to say goodbye to our Yr. 13 & 14’s and say ‘see you soon’ to our Yr. 11’s, there is still much going on at school before we break up for the summer holidays.

The last week of term is going to be very exciting with the annual academic awards ceremony on Tuesday 25th June, where we will celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students. On Wednesday 26th June we have our Qualifications Day, where students have selected to take part in a course linked to their future aspirations. Finally on Thursday 27th June we will have our House Competition Morning which will end at 12.00pm with a final assembly from outgoing Principal Irfan Latif and the presentation of the House Cup.

With further end points in mind, Graduation takes place on Friday 21st June and is a chance for the whole school community to come together to celebrate the hard work and resilience of our A level, BTEC and IFP students.

A huge congratulations to the Academic English Department who are celebrating some fantastic IELTS results. It really is wonderful to see our students develop so quickly in their Academic English and for many it means they can now go on and study their dream course.

It is Pride Month in the UK and the student council have been busy ensuring the school is awash with LGBTQ+ flags – a very colourful sight to behold! Pride month is dedicated to the celebration and commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride. It started in 1969 after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests. Whilst it is important that we take time celebrate this month, I hope students feel inclusion and pride is embedded into our DNA always.

Finally, Tatler have announced their School Guide Awards and as a ‘Tatler School’ we are eligible for nomination. Your support would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Gareth Evans, Assistant Principal (Pastoral and Boarding)
