Dear Parents and Guardians,

It was lovely to start the week with a May bank holiday which was the perfect opportunity to allow our Yr.11,13 and 14 students to rest prior to the busy exam period which is now upon us. Although these students are now on study leave, our teachers remain on hand, running revision classes and study clinics to ensure they are as prepared as possible for their examinations. As I surveyed the study areas this week it was clear to see how seriously our students are taking their exams and doing everything they can to get the best possible results. Everyone at DLD wishes them much luck and are here to support them through the stresses of public examinations.

But as our students sit their exams and we prepare to say goodbye, we are also looking to the future. On Thursday we had a successful open evening with parent’s keen to learn about our project based learning Yr.9 course, our wide range of innovative BTECs, the many A levels on offer and the fantastic International Foundation Program offering. It was great to meet so many new parents and we look forward to welcoming them to DLD College London in September when James Kidd takes over as Principal.

In the next academic year we will be introducing a new timetable, and we would ask that you have a look at the important notice further down to familiarise yourself with this. Whilst we’re on next year, it is a pleasure to announce that Jess Ellett will be the new Housemistress of Northern House from September. Those who have children in this house will hear from Jess in the new academic year and we wish Jess the best in this very important pastoral role.

Have a lovely weekend!

Best wishes,
Gareth Evans, Assistant Principal (Pastoral and Boarding)
