DLD students visited the (temporarily) biggest stadium in Europe when they toured Wembley Stadium. The home of English football but also a home for music, entertainment and NFL. The students got the chance to visit the press room as well as see the dressing rooms, where they got to see match worn kits from both the men’s national team and the Lionesses’ match worn kits from their European Championship success in 2022.
The views were phenomenal, as the arch allows for perfect viewing from any seat due to there being no pillars to obstruct the view, which allowed the students to take some fantastic photos.
Everyone really enjoyed the tour, finding it both educational and fun and are excited to get the opportunity to come back for the England vs Iceland game in June!
When speaking to the students on their return to the boarding house, Jana reflected by saying:
“The trip was really fun and interesting, my favourite part was when the tour guide asked for two volunteers to lead their teams onto the pitch. I represented England and another visitor represented Argentina. I think this was really cool because we got to experience what it is like to walk out onto the pitch like a true football player! Thank you to the boarding team for organising this trip – we all really enjoyed it!” Jana C, Year 10 student
