Over this Summer half term holiday, some of our current students, Charlotte, Alex Carl and Julian, plus alumni Lucy, successfully completed their assessment expedition for their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award . For four days they lived self-sufficiently in the outdoors; walking 15-18k per day and spending 3 nights cooking and camping in the New Forest.
Continuing the Duke of Edinburgh Award in a pandemic adds to the challenges already faced in this programme and to do this at Gold level is a great sign of the resilience and determination of our students to achieve all they can.
Once the award is fully completed they can look forward to receiving their awards at a special reception at St James’s Palace.
