26th October 15
On 6th October, one of our Art teachers, Jonathan Parkhouse, took a selection of our best students artwork and presented them at the London West ISA annual Art Competition, at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, near Maidenhead. This is a prestigious, high-quality competition for pupils of Member schools to compete at a national level. Initially held on a regional basis, the area competitions are followed by a national exhibition.
We submitted work in five categories; 2-D, 3-D, Photography, Drawing & Sketchbooks. Over a dozen independent schools were submitting for each category. We came away with five awards, including two first prizes! Congratulations to all the award winners.
Aleksandra Dovgal – 1st prize
Georgina Wheatley – 1st prize
Georgina Wheatley – Highly Commended
Miriam Michaelson – Highly Commended
Dayoung Lee – Highly Commended
This maintains our excellent record of winning prizes at this very competitive event every year since we began submitting Art by DLD students in 2010. These awards reflect the quality of Art being produced by students at DLD, and the students and staff can be very proud of their achievements.
Good luck to Aleksandra and Georgina who will be going to the National Art Competition in November.
